A Back-Up-Gun (BUG) is a small revolver or pistol that one carries as a back-up to a primary gun.
The following rules apply for BUG matches:
- Back-Up-Guns can be revolvers or pistols.
- Barrel length for revolvers cannot exceed 3".
- Barrel length for pistols cannot exceed 3.8".
- Back-Up-Guns are .32 Caliber or larger.
- A maximum of 5 rounds can be loaded in the gun.
- There are no reloads on the clock.
- Drawing from holsters of any kind is not allowed.
- All CoF are limited to a maximum of 5 shots per string of fire.
- There is no Classification in BUG matches.
- The BUG division is for club matches only and is not recognized in any sanctioned IDPA match.
- All other rules for scoring and equipment will follow the standard IDPA rule book.
The BUG matches sponsored by the Tactical Shooters Club will be conducted as follows:
- We will recognize winners in both revolver and pistol divisions.
- Matches will consist of between 50 and 100 rounds.
- There will be fun side matches for standard pistol, rifle and shotgun.
