Rules

A Back-Up-Gun (BUG) is a small revolver or pistol that one carries as a back-up to a primary gun. 

The following rules apply for BUG matches:

  1. Back-Up-Guns can be revolvers or pistols.
    1. Barrel length for revolvers cannot exceed 3".
    2. Barrel length for pistols cannot exceed 3.8".
  2. Back-Up-Guns are .32 Caliber or larger.
  3. A maximum of 5 rounds can be loaded in the gun.
  4. There are no reloads on the clock.
  5. Drawing from holsters of any kind is not allowed.
  6. All CoF are limited to a maximum of 5 shots per string of fire.
  7. There is no Classification in BUG matches.
  8. The BUG division is for club matches only and is not recognized in any sanctioned IDPA match.
  9. All other rules for scoring and equipment will follow the standard IDPA rule book.

The BUG matches sponsored by the Tactical Shooters Club will be conducted as follows:

  1. We will recognize winners in both revolver and pistol divisions.
  2. Matches will consist of between 50 and 100 rounds.
  3. There will be fun side matches for standard pistol, rifle and shotgun.
